Here is what made this an exceptional SS1000
There was a south wind of 20-35 mph, and about 650 miles of this route was east and west, we all know how much fun it is to ride with a strong side wind.
Along with battering and relentless side wind, you have the fuel economy dropped, 85-90F and this was a 2 up ride!
The passenger was batted around by the wind, for 14 hours, the last 80 miles was with the wind, still in the 12-18 MPH range. This may not be a record time, but under the conditions, very commendable!
Pretty much run in the daylight, start time 4:53 end time 8:57 (times approx don't trust my memory)
That took some good team work at the gas stops, which there were plenty, since the longest tank was around 130 miles and the shortest around 89 miles.
Hats Off to Mark and Lois!
