A Hot 4th of July....

by

With forcast temps of near 100 degrees I got an early start for a ride. Meandering Southwest of Monroe.
I ran into Karl, from Germany. He is had read about Lewis & Clark's journey. He ordered maps of Lewis & Clark trail from Adventure Cycle & started planning his trip from St. Louis, MO to Bismark, ND. I ran into him today near Pickstown, SD. He was out of water & had about 25 miles to the nearest store. I gave him two bottles I had in the panniers. Of course, he was concerned I would have enough! I assured him I could spare the two bottles. We had a nice chat about his adventure. It is so cool to meet & visit with the people you meet while on the road!

I also had a chance to do a little bonus hunting. This was a cool find. Imagine the first school in Dakota Territory!

Then there is this Steeple. I giggled when I found it! Ummmm Ahhhh.....Get a picture of the "Steeple"

I will tell you....It's NOT in Louisville!wink.gif

I hope everyone had a Super 4th of July. It was 101 degrees on our thermometer when I got back home! Ughhh.....
