      I have not done that with a running engine. My 83 had a bent kickstand,and dropped off the stand fairly easily. Picking one of those up,is best done when the adenaline is flowing.


      I can see the damage to the engine on a flat six laying on it side running,could be substantial. Shutting off the engine makes a lot of sense. 47 degrees is a substantial lean for a bagger!
