Normally if I forget something and someone reminds me, there is a moment of "Oh, ya, I do remember that now" and can move on from there. The difference being, here we are, four months later, you're telling me I said something at the Harvest Rally and there is no "Oh, I rememeber now". You're accusing me of promising you a refund and not delivering. So, a basic accusation of theft. I think my responses have been down right sugar coated considering you're dancing right on the edge of accusing me of stealing from you. My actions since you brought this up here has been based on me simply not rembering our conversation at the Harvest rally, you'll note that I have not accused you of lying and making it up. YOU have no reason to lie, and no reason to make it up, so the logical thought line is that I forgot. So how about you cut me the same courtesy? Why attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence?
I had the GLMC Checkbook along at the Harvest rally, thats how the restaraunt got paid. HOotis had cash on hand from the riders who paid in cash and could have also refunded you right then also, in cash.
You've always been a really nice guy so I just figured my memory had totally failed. I'm getting older, it could happen. But, four months, no reminders, till you bring it up in a public forum. No emails to me, no emails to Hootis, nothing. Then a 'lets drag Lee through the mud' thread. And now you're insulted by smart-ass replies. (Which were intended as humor, but I should know better than to try sarcasm in a typed, not spoken, format)
An email or two several months ago would have solved this.
Why else would I have posted "why not ask?"
Sitting on this all for four months says you honestly felt it was done out of malice and with intent when in reality it was a matter of having an insane number of things going on at any one time. Hootis simply forgot to mention it at the rider meeting. It was not intended to blindside anyone.
Communicate via email or snail mail if it needs to be remembered. Or even a phone call, a month later when everyone involved isn't in the midst of trying to put on a road rally.
