Over at my blog, www.gearheadgrrrl.com , I've made a modest proposal for an off the beaten interstate two lane metric thousand in one ride. Rules are simple- cover 1000 kilometers (620 miles) in 24 hours, no more than 10% interstate and 20% 4 lane highways, every mile of interstate must be balanced by a mile on unpaved roads or urban streets, and have to eat at least one sit down meal at a non chain restaurent or take a nap enroute.
