$2500 locally here in Upstate NY. The guy I talked to this weekend with the Flatheads also has a Cyclone for sale if anyone is interested I can get more info. It's got a few odd parts that look like it was either dropped or in an accident (or maybe just had a wierd owner) but I can find out more if someone wants.

I figured this to be the #1 place to try and sell this. Not doing any serious riding anymore so some things have to go!
Widder heated vest and thermostat controller. Used a couple of seasons, no rips or tears, excellent condition. Will dramatically extend your riding season.
A few of the main users here know me and can vouch that I'm not a scammer.
$120 plus shipping for both. OBO Have Paypal but MO would be Ok too.

Got a few things done. Still crazy busy getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. Cold ride home from the farm. But I managed to get the door for the back side of my Bike shed on hinges. It was 12 inches too narrow and 2 inches too tall. Grand-Dad had it just nailed in place with a couple boards covering the holes.
Now I just need to get it cleared out of some junk that's been in there 20 to 30 years. More space to keep bikes and tractors in there. Will allow me to keep the garage space open for vehicles this winter. Some of my family hasn't realized the trade off between having !!USEABLE!!, Heated shop space and garbage. I got halfway thru the project and my Grand-Dad "suggests" that it would be a good place to store tractors if all that junk wasn't in there. "What an idea... I didn't think of that... well now that we can open this door... the junk can come out pretty easy can't it?"

I'm loving it... so I decided that my trip to the hardware store would be on the bike.... needed parts for my door.
My cousin saw me roll thru town and followed me out. Wanted me to follow him.
Snapped a few on the ride.
He was headed to visit a guy that's got a bunch of old Flatheads he's workin on. 1 Servi-car in process, and an Army Bike next in line. Servi-car is being done for AMCA judging. He's also got a load of Aermachi's and Ironheads. Supposedly an ORIGINAL Bi-Centential (Liberty?) bike Harley. I didn't get any pictures in respect of his wishes but an awesome guy to talk to.
After that it was back to finish my door.

Was up on the roof, cleaning gutters, and installing some windows on the new house (we bought a new house in the summer, and are finishing up replacing all the windows that needed it.)
Nice view of the backyard from up here:
Dave stopped by on his new Buell Uly. He dropped it playing "dual sport" on a 4x4 trail, and had to adjust his clutch afterwards:
After he got it adjusted, and I finished cleaning up from the construction, we went for a little ride to pick up some more villains. Dave is determined to finish the tour after his wreck, even if it's too late to submit them! He had the camera, so I'll have to wait until he posts them.

Awesome pic! I'll put 'em all up when I git-r-dun. I'm just loving the open road, after four months of wanting. PT kicked my ass, so today was maintenance day: changed out that tranny juice- it stank after slipping the clutch for fifty miles. Then I mugged the Muller Power Clutch and K&N off the wreck. Tomorrow I'm going for distance! -Nadz

Had a really good weekend in the Mudville region.
Thrursday night, myself, my brother and Kellie the Boxer beat all the college educated in trivia. Free beer is good beer.
Friday we had a housewarming party at our new location. Sasquatch & the Sick-A-Billys played in the loft.
Saturday Hollywood hosted our club Thanksgiving meal at his house.
Cheeze Bill and his brother provided some live music to digest by.
Then we went to an art gallery where Camera Steve and Blue Stingray were promoting some Bluegrass & Sean Kershaw and the New Jack Ramblers.
Pinecreek playing traditional bluegrass folk music.
Sunday was Veteran's Parade in the city of hartford.
Thanks to the Veterans for their service to our country.

My visit with the neuro surgeon went well yesterday. He said he wnated to check a few things 1st to make sure it isn't something else causing my symptoms before he drilled a hole in my head. I told him that sounded good to me.
Once he found out the VA had already done an eeg, ekg, 2 cat scans, mri's of my breain & spine along with an mra but had refused to give me the copies of the CD's he said he'd get those ASAP & that he would contact me in about a week.

Started preparation or whatever you may call it on my steed for the Popcycle, Dirt Poker run, and Barn Bike.
So far no show stoppers. The rubber piece that goes from the air box is as hard as a rock. I've found a couple of mixtures to soak it in on the internet. The other challenge is the fuel tank has quite a bit of rust inside. I am not quite sure how I am going to take care of that. Rumor has it that someone has modified a grill with a rotisserie that works well for repairing this malady.
Wish me luck.

Wrap it in a thick blanket and use the Air Only Setting on the clothes drier. Fill it with a few handfulls of nuts/bolts, BB's orbearings. If it doesn't leak you can put water or some other helpfull fluid in it to help the process along. Depends on the level of rust. Might be easier to just get a different tank.

Great suggestion. I have been looking for tanks not much luck yet. I will need to send the wife away for the weekend to try your suggestion. The replacement tank is probably cheaper.

for a while before reinstallation. softens 'em up just right AND keeps your hands warm while you install them.
For the rusty tank
Fill the tank with water.
Take a piece of steel re-bar long enough to protrude out the top of the tank, and tape up the bottom 1" so as to insulate it.
Place a wide-mouth plastic funnel in the filler neck and put the re-bar in through the funnel, so the funnel and the tape insulate the re-bar from the tank.
Get a 10 amp battery charger, preferably one with a current (amp) gauge, and connect the negative clip to the tank and the positive to the re-bar.
Pour salt in through the funnel until the current climbs to 10 amps, and wait approximately 2 minutes.
Check the tank. Continue if necessary, but no longer than absolutely necessary.
Rinse the tank several times, and dry thoroughly. ( perhaps some Dry-and-Go or WD-40 to displace the moisture would be helpful.
The idea is that you electroplate the re-bar with the rust from the tank walls.
Posted on Nov 2, 2009, 5:02 AM from IP address 24.93.136.165
Has 20% HCL and will clean the tank. Don't leave in over 15 minutes, flush it with acetone when you get done. Helps to coat the inside of the tank in oil (I use Marvel Mystery Oil) after cleaning to prevent flash rusting.
Nice project!

I have been using my old cel phone that had a 3 megapixel camera on it but I ran it through the washing machine in the pliers pocket of my jeans. I neep to purchase a new camera. I don't want to spend alot of money. Of the lower end / inexspensive cameras which gives the best bang for the buck. I want one with an sd card.
Posted on Nov 1, 2009, 10:39 AM from IP address 96.24.85.99
Olympus D380. have had it for years. I'm not recommending this camera necessarily but I'll give you the reasons I like it and what I will need when replacing it.
It is the size of a compact 35mm camera. This allows me to handle the camera with riding gloves on. It has a large shutter button. I can keep it in my unzipped pocket with the wrist strap outside. I can slip my hand in the strap and pull the camera out and then put it back when done.
It also has the external lense cover that slides to turn the camera on/off. And there is no Zoom lense so it doesn't poke out of the camera body. This is important becuase cameras who have this option tend to poke the lense into the cover. This causes trouble with the lens. Scratching and such. Also with the lense cover On/Off style it's easy on a bike to operate since there's no Tiny button to push.

That was my first digital, still use it, tough as nails, ask Lunatic, he watched me pick it up off the road after a 55 mph drop. That was years ago.
I have had 2 more since, they are like Reaver said, tough to operate while riding.
I'd hate to think of how many pics I have taken with that ol'D380
Snap open, take pic, snap shut, all done

I like both of those things. It's not so much of a rally camera as it is a taking pictures of my kid and parts I want to sell camera. I don't know how many rally's I will be attending because I'll be spending my vacation time drag racing. I'm going to need about $1500 just for entry fees & tnt to race next year so rally's are not high on my priority list. I really enjoy riding in the rallies but I enjoy racing even more.

I wished I had saved more photos of my old dragbike. GS750 two valve motor. NOt freaky fast but a HOOT. longthened rigid drag style frame. No wheelie bar, just a pipe and jet kit on the engine with pod filters. FUN!!! Banana yellow. Gotta be a photo or two if it around here somewhere. It just got too expensive though, had to stop. 150 miles to the nearest track did not help.

Its really nice being 5 miles from the track. I'm planning on riding in 7 weekend bracket races next year and 10 wed night street races (test n tune run what you brung) Don't know yet what they will say when I show up with a wheelie bar on the wed night race but they let lots of trailer queen race cars with license plates run so I hope they let me do it also. I'm just gonna show up and expect to get teched in. Hell last year they were letting a guy race a motorcycle with an OPEN face helmet. Bet thats not snell approved. Race gas hmmm yummy.

Remote oil filter and that barely clears the stearing sector, electric fuel pump. This truck had a stock 4 liter V-6, and had plenty of power. The only reason I had trouble pulling my 18' boat out of the water was traction, with the V-8 it would be hopeless

Here's my favorite mode of transportation. Finished another great riding season, around 13K miles, bringing the total on the bike (a '95 R100) to 160K as of yesterday. After 50K miles of sidecar abuse, the single-sided rear swing arm and bearing are holding up just fine. Five years of hack piloting has finally converted me - love this rig I do.
Posted on Oct 29, 2009, 9:37 AM from IP address 76.17.228.78
the fender and the wheel all move in the same direction, but due to the relocation of the axle and creating a pivot point for the arm, the tire will move up slightly more than the shock (and fender) will. Nothing wrong with it, it's a slick setup, and there's no good way to mount the fender without some type of additional linkage near the axle (similar to modern Harley springers with fenders - and it's ugly!)
I've been looking at a lot of sidehack stuff online - wish I had the $$$ to build one. Saw one for sale last week in the area, didn't stop because I know I couldn't afford to bring another toy into the garage!
The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I was thinking of building it as an ADV hack rig with a small boat for the sidecar. Removeable so you can ride it to the boonies, thenunload and go canoeing. The boat I have in mind is only 250 bucks brand new.

He was really concerned with finding a Bike. With his Buell wrecked... and HD's decision to kill the line, he was worried about finding a Uly before they all got nabbed. He said all of Upstate NY was sold out. Not sure but I think he had to go to Pennsylvania for it.

My appointment had to be rescheduled due to the neurosurgeon still being in surgery this morning after I arrived in Fayetteville.
At least that shows me once I get on that table he's gonna be there until the jobs done.

two hours and thirty five minutes to make a 45 second video.
Nice strip down job.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Any of you guys wear the Aerostich Combat Touring Boots?
Is there a difference besides ankle hieght in the Regular vs. Lite versions? I'm curious. I don't really like something coming up my leg as high as the regular's appear to. But I wouldn't want to sacrifice anything going to the Lite's for the shorter boot. Suggestions, Comments, Concerns?
Right now I wear my Rocky work boots. They work well for me, but I'm contemplating a future investment.

But I don't know the difference between the regular and the lightweight versions. They are good boots, I got them from sportbiketrackgear.com at a bargain price last year.

I've read a ton of good (understatement) reviews on them. I'm always hesitant to buy boots I don't get to try on, but I imagine I can figure something out.
Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, I'm serious. I ran in the rain so much this year I had to drain the water out of my lights. I had a few minutes adn was looking over the bikes and realized there's rain water inside the lights. Blah... add it to the list of maint.
