I am an Officer in Iowa. My dad did PPC for years when he worked at Cedar Rapids Polce, now I am an officer at a different Dept and am going to start PPC. I have a S&W 586 6 inch with an action job. My question is shooting the 50 yard and the 25 yard. Since I cannot adjust my sights, what is the correct method. Is it sight the gun right on at 50 yards then adjust at 25 yards. Do not have the rance gun with the three postition rear sight. How many speed loaders do you reccomend also. Thanks, Jerod

Hi jerod

It depends on your ammo
I use 158 grain factory with my stock 686 and I Hold for the top of the 9 ring from 50 yards
Take your gun and ammo out and shoot some at 25 and 50 yard groups to see where your load is hitting and where you need to hold to get hits in the centre

Hey Jerod what you want to do is put a high patrige front sight on and a .146 rear sight so you shoot point of aim out to the 25 yard line and when you go back to the 50 yard line you turn your rear sight up (cant remember how many turns) then you can shoot a neck hold also if your going to shoot in leg matches you need to check the rule book on external modifications,if you want to see how much you can do with a 686 go to my face book page (MOJO CUSTOM GUNS)call or email any time, i hope this helped.

Just saw the other part of your post
Pick up at least 4 speedloaders
I recommend the jet loader or the safariland comp 3
