I would like to hear some tips for treating newly sanded wooden grips on a revolver ? Some people saying leave it bare and let hand oils soak in and others are saying use linseed oil.

What say you ?

If you like a really glassy finish, try Tru-Oil. You have to sand in stages until all the grain is raised and finished to a very fine smooth finish. You do this by wetting the wood slightly raising the grain until you get it to where you want it. then apply the True-Oil in light coats, lightly sanding(very fine paper)after the coat dries, then apply another coat and repeat until you get the finish that suits you and completely covers the surface. Have done this with handgun grips and rifle stocks and really turns out nice. Time consuming, but works. Just a suggestion.
