Everyone is watching this, so I figure a $100,000 card is hard to "out". Below is the Garter from Hunt and then the below that is the one from Ebay. I will not be bidding on the item offered on Ebay, cause the story is a little fishy to say the least. BUT, it looks soooo good, it will be hard not to wonder what if. The 2 cards look very (very) similar. Anyone have any thoughts?
Dan, roll your tongue back into your mouth. Total scam. Does anyone honestly think it is conceivable that someone would have a card such as this, not get it graded, and sell it from a foreign country?
Jeff-
I know it is a fake. I just wanted it to be real like the holmes to Jax that I passed on for $4k. I picked up a raw Jackson Sporting News on Ebay a while back and got it in an SGC 50 holder. This one is a tad more obvious. I did consider it to the point that I called Mastercard and asked them to back me up. When they said no, I knew I was over my head. You know your a baseball card junkie when... You call Mastercard! Thanks Leon
I have an officemate who is presently in Germany and will be for another week. I emailed the seller and told him that if I win the auction I would like to wire funds to Germany and have my friend hand deliver cash for payment for the card. The seller has not responded.
they are closer then i originally thought...i am seeing the same little stains/imperfections on both...probably the same scan, just much lighter, faded image.
if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
edited to add: to me the centering is still different, but that could have been photoshoped or cropped somehow...

Damn it to hell. I received an email back from the seller about my request to have someone meet him in Germany with money if I won the auction. The answer was complete gibberish.
