T206 Subset Completed! (Southern League Cards)

My T206 collection cannot complete (nor do I want it to) with those I have seen on the board.

That being said, Mr. Ed Foster arrived in the mail today. As a result, the Southern League portion of "The Monster" has been put to bed!

My T206 set (508 of 524) will never be completed, but it's a fun journey.

Great accomplishment, well done!! I recall getting that 48th... And I think that anyone who thinks they're going up over 500 with the white border tobacco cards would be well off to gather the southern leaguers early on.

Congrats Scott, good for you.

Just curious, what did you find to be the toughest SLers to come by?

Congrats and Props!

Foster was one of the last cards I needed for the set. I've found Paige and Shag to be tough as well.

Scott,
This set creates quite a dilemna. Why are we collecting a set that we will never be able to complete? I don't know the answer, but it sure is fun!

Congrats on getting all of the SL'ers. Of the 16 cards remaining I'm guessing that you need the big six. Do you mind telling us the other 10 cards that you need?

Thanks,
Rick

The Foster was the hardest one to find, but the Shaugnassy card rates a close second.

I started this set back in 2002 (I think) and went for cheap low grade cards to start. I have slowly worked my way up the food chain. The B/S/T has been a lot of help.

I still "need"

All 4 Cobbs
Demmitt - St. Louis
Doyle - NY Natl
Elberfeld - Washington Portrait
Both Johnsons
Lajoie with Bat (on the way!)
Magie
Mathewson - Portrait
O'Hara - St. Louis
Plank
Wagner
Young - Glove shows

If I never add another card, I will be happy with the set.

Interesting that you found Foster to be one of the toughest. My experience was the same as yours. Foster was the last SL I was able to add to my set, and one of the last 5 I needed to fill the 521 of 524 set.

Hi Scott,
Congrats...
Be well Brian

PS In 2002 there were only about 6 or 7 of us with cards on SGC's set registry...and now there are probably 70-80, so they have come along way too..

Good luck on the remaining cards... I'll keep an eye out for you.
