First, you don't get to hide behind saying that it was all in response to attacks on you. Almost all of what you took was in response to your BEHAVIOR in the thread. Someone saying you are obnoxious is based on the fact that your posting was obnoxious. Someone saying you are stupid is based on the facts that many posts were inane.

Coming back with comments about listening to the BeeGees and having a comb in the pocket has nothing to do with someone's posts. Certainly the comment about me, based solely on the fact that I am female, has absolutely zero to do with my behavior. It's a good thing you can't tell by someones name who among us is old or handicapped or Jewish or Asian, because all of those would be fair game too.


Second, I have participated on these boards off and on since it was the Fullcount board and probably have about 5 or more total years of consistent participation. And no one, ever, never, not one person has ever crossed the line you crossed. Your comment was sexually overt and had strong tones of intimidation and was way, way out of line.

No one - of all of the thousands of guys that have come and gone or been regular participants - no one has ever ever done that in all these years. Not once. I've argued with people and clashed with people and not one has gone there. Even Bruce, who probably doesn't like me and for good reason, has never ever done that - and he has taken a whole, whole lot more from me than you did.

I think all the decent guys on this board should be pissed. 5+ years active without anyone ever playing the sexual slam card. And now this board can never say that again. You took that from this board and these people - the ability to say that with however many hundreds of thousands of posts each and every single individual refrained from that - even joking. And you, a nobody, come out of nowhere, contribute nothing, act like an ass and break that incredibly decent run that these guys collectively had.


And to the rest of the guys, thank you very much for that and for jumping Marshall when he posted that yesterday. To be honest, I sometimes feel like I am interfering in what might otherwise be a very different atmosphere - like I am crashing the locker room or hunting camp or something - and really appreciate that I've never heard even the faintest hint of derision or resentment over that.

There is an extent to which I'm not even mad though. Why? Because what he did was too easy. It's so obvious, so intellectually destitute. Of course he would do it. He doesn't fit, not here or anywhere. In the picture with Trump that he is so proud of, he is so incredibly out of place and inappropriate that he almost looks like he was Photoshopped into it.





If I'm in that room and a guy comes in looking like that and acting like a jerk and breaks out some stupid sexual comment about me, am I going to really stay deeply mad and offended for long? No. He's an obvious outcast and misfit, tolerated only because there is a veneer of civility in most social settings, including that room and including this board. That picture is the perfect parallel to him on this board, and the reason I won't stay mad or offended.

And Marsh, as to people hating your slogan and yet using it and you finding that odd? They're mocking you. Individually, collectively and appropriately. The only person not in on the joke is you. Pard.

I guess I am used to places like usenet where the way Marshall talks (writes) is par for the course. The one thing we don't want is that kind of trash in this forum though and I agree with Joann that it went way over the line. Not sure what you can do though...I don't think it was necessarily a bannable (not a word) offense. Heck, if wishing someone dead and sending obscene emails to forum members doesn't get you banned then Marshall probably shouldn't be banned. I think the best you can do is ignore him. He's craving attention...and if you believe his story he's been craving it his whole life. He runs a loose ship compared to most boards, but I think that kind of moderating can lead to many great discussions which I suppose is why the fella that wished me dead is still here because he (they?) does start some good discussions. The picture is not photo shopped but it is probably not what Marshall claims it to be. I really doubt Donald and he have a personal relationship. Mr. Trump poses for thousands of pictures. I am fairly sure that these pictures were not at a black tie event or anything like that. It was one of Mr. Trump's many many seminars on business that happened to be held in the Cayman islands (more likely St. Vincent where Trump owns property and this is backed by Marshall standing next to the Prime Minister of St. Vincent).

Joann, Marshall just proves the Mark Twain adage... "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

BTW, still have seen no proof of any sales by Marshall or that he even owns any cards. I wish to see some of Marshall's high end cards. Any cards actually...I would love Marshall to add something to this board as well. Joann, Barry, Dan, even Bruce (who I refuse to talk to or deal with) adds information, scans, knowledge, and class to the board without having it be a wager.

Also, Leon, in the thread where you tell us to cut him a break he goes on to say that all the card people are either drinkers, gamblers, or strip club goers...I am no saint but I would never imply that an entire class of people are those things.

If Marshall would just add something of value I would be happy.

Also, Marshall (and Frank would back me up on this), the first amendment does not guarantee free speech. It makes sure Congress will not pass a law infringing on free speech. There are many many examples of people getting in trouble for "speaking their minds."

Fact 2. The picture you bums chose to show is a picture of me talking to Donald because there were several cameras around and both us were just trying to figure it out. Post the other picture of donald and i you Barbera Walters holier than though troublemaker .

Fact 3. If it were not for my agent there would have never even been a Donald Trump golf tournament because he was trying to throw a event where each golfer put up 25,000 of their own money and a winner would take all 1,000,0000 first place and no other money for the other spots.
Donald also had guidelines as to who could play and one of them was that a person had to be talented in another field. There was only 12 players that fit that bill including yours truly who comitted to his tournament and he needed 125 so my agent contacted Donald's golf tournament director and saved the day. The tour i was on was the US Pro Golf Tour so they combined our tour with Donald and made it the US Pro Golf Tour 1,000,000 Donald Trump shootout.

The cards blew out for 38,000 at Milehigh and Brian Drent BROUGHT MAJOR NOISE and set a single auction record because he has the "1 auction house in the game.

Fact 5. For every finger you point there is two pointing back and Joann you started with a insult and jab so i fired back,like i am doing now and there is no type of grading when it comes to a insult. Words like Troll,fraudulant,wannabe,fake,liar and so on are all insults and i know a few of my friends that if someone would call me a liar and they would be present would just smash their F'ing teeth down their throat which is what happens when you are in the middle of a mosh pit and they love it. I come from a very hardcore and extreme background and my friends play harder than myself.

Fact 6. My original post had to do with the hobby and also the grading standards that are suspect. In my original post i had nothing to say about anybody on this board. Interesting people find their way to Leon's little corner. After awhile they wander off to another place that suits them better. Adam M, Peter C. and soon Marshall will find a place on this WWW that they call home. For a few brief moments we listen and shake our heads and then head back to our boring little hobby that we so enjoy.
I am sad that Joann had to be in the middle of this episode and I'm sure she knows that the majority of gentlemen (and I stress the word gentlemen) respect her and her knowledge.
Shortly we will be a peaceful place again. Just wish a few more would join Marshall on his journey out of here. But alas I can only dream.

He actually makes a personal phone call about the situation and normally i would have not taken the call but made a exception this time. One of my favorite quotes that, sad to say I cannot remember fully right now is from Walter Payton when asked why he does not celebrate a touchdown. Basically he said he plays like he has been there before...no need to celebrate.

in the same vain...no need to bring on the noise....if a person is who they say they are recognition will come their way. If you have to brag about who you hang with or what you have bought and sold maybe you are a little deficient in other areas!!

If you count there were 45 posts before i responded. All kinds of trash talking, bashing, talking about banning and so forth. Does anyone here really think i need attention? In all reality when people get together on a witchhunt and a post goes 45 messages without a single response from the individual their talking about it is obvious who is seeking attention.

All of it was done on purpose Levine. My original post had to do with grading remember hence the comment in regards to Plank. As to the broad comment she reminds me of a man the way she is acting hence the comment.

Ever since I got back into the hobby in the past year, and decided to dedicate my focus to Pre-War, I have been a frequent visitor to Net 54. I come here to see the pickup threads. I love to see scans of cards I dream about. I check the B/S/T's three times a day just in case I come across a deal I can't pass up. I come here to see caramel cards. I come here to see tobacco cards. I come here to see cards I never knew existed. I come here for PRE-WAR CARDS.

Marshall, Josh is an educator who has undoubtedly touched and inspired the lives of many of his pupils ... you know, someone who makes a difference in the world. You on the other hand are an ignorant, self-aggrandizing, blow-hard who lacks respect, tact, and manners. As a 40-year old man you should be ashamed at the way are acting and the way you carry yourself. The way you speak about women is unbelievable, your mother would be ashamed of you. The true measure of a man is the way they treat women, unfortunately that is all too true in this instance.

You talk about money like you have actually earned some, what exactly do you do for a living (you might as well answer your own question you posed to Joshua). When I ask this I'm not talking about golf, as you obviously can't support yourself doing that, or your music (for the same reason). What have you done to make this world a better place? I'll be anxiously awaiting your reply.

A balmy dark night in Honolulu. Had a good tough session at the Kyokushin dojo this evening; for once I was pleased by my training efforts. When the class was pau I stopped on the way to my car to listen to a group of 15 or 20 young Micronesians hanging out and singing hymns in a nearby park. Their voices came out of the darkness, a sweet Polynesian singsong from the women, virile harmony from the men. Such a peaceful sound. It was one of those "lucky you stay Hawaii" moments and it put me in the nicest mood. Got to thinking about how much I enjoy participating on this board and how I value the friendships both real-time and virtual that I have made, and that I am fortunate to be a part of this group of diverse, interesting and good people. Got home and eventually logged on to Net54. It's lights-out already on the Mainland. The board is quiet. The Marshall Barkman thing is at the top of the page. What's with this guy? Blowing the MB3 horn non-stop, insulting my friends left, right and crooked, sexist putdowns (ya kicked his okole, Joann), violent innuendoes, contributing nothing but aggro and graceless as a claw hammer. Forty years old and thinks the world is a mosh pit. How unbecoming and pathetic, a grandma in a mini-skirt. Too many guys like him in my world already. He's the guy in the boom car that runs all the red lights on Kal Highway. The guy that talks on his cellphone in the movie theatre. The guy that flips off old ladies. What is he doing on our board? What is the over/under on the number of hours left before he gets the hook? Get him the hell off of here. Enough already.

So this is all really Joann's fault...she posted just to get at Marshall, and to draw attention to herself.

Quite honestly, if you ignore it (especially when it's below you, not worth your time of day, and thrives on the attention you are giving it), it will usually go away...

I am a rookie here also. I check the board multiple times a day. In the short few weeks that I have been reading these boards, I have learned so much. Most of the people who post here are very knowlegable about pre war cards. But there are a few who have nothing better to do but insult people and bust their chops. I have encountered one such person when I posted a few weeks ago. I no longer see his name posted. These people are crying out for attention because they have nothing else in their lives.

If we just ignore these people, they go away.

...I'm mostly a lurker on here,but have enjoyed most everything I've read over the years.



But a few replies up, Mr.McDonald summed up the on-board unanimous response to MB3 in a most eloquent fashion.



I've known guys who publicy and personally respond to women as MB3 did in a moment of spite, and MB3 fits them to a T. A 40-year old who still acts as like a 15-year old. IF he's married,I'd be shocked.


I must admit,Marshall's website (what there is of it) is interesting and he seems like an interesting guy...if you simply happen upon his website. But seeing him virtually interact on these boards (maybe this is a poor example of him in action,but I doubt it) puts any doubt to rest. A gambling-addicted,high-strung,bling-loving,loud mouth,all-about-himself,extreme dude who craves...absolutely CRAVES...attention.

He may play golf better than a lot of us citizens,and if you like his sort of heavy metal music (the song samples on his blog weren't half-bad)...not my cup of tea,but as a musician myself I give props....anyway....

He has done nothing but cause strife on these boards with his repititious blatherings and spoutings of 20-year-old catch-phrases, and his ill-placed and very-out-of-fashion-rat-packish comment to Joann puts a big red flag up.

Once this thing dies down he'll bring his noize elsewhere.

Well, I do have a responsibility to the community we have made. I am going to lock this thread and talk to Marshall today. Our crowd doesn't really fit him too well. He did insult good friends but he felt it was warranted. I do stand behind my comments (believe it or not) but my overriding concern is for the board. I am sort of a lone ranger on this one. We'll have to talk about this over a lot of beer at the National. Here is the deal. I think I am going to ask Marshall not to post anymore and lock this thread also. I think Net54 VBCF has had enough for now...maybe forever. I apologize for not taking action sooner but I do see my (much younger) self in Marshall...though I changed. I apologize to anyone that is offended I didn't take action sooner. I have explained why...right or wrong. There are so many folks I want to throw some rebuttals at it's not even worth it. So lets get back to vintage cards please...Anymore Marshall threads will be locked and swift action will be taken....take care all
