I won an item on ebay ($150). The shipping charge was set at $4. There was an optional insurance charge offered at $2.60. When I did the paypal check out the payment forced a $3.60 insurance payment, it was not optional.
I'm not here to piss and moan about a dollar or two but if it's optional in the item description, how can paypal force a "required insurance" charge?
Is this something that paypal forces into the payment or is it something the seller has to include.

I set my Ebay lots as insurance optional. Nobody is forced to pay for insurance when they pay with Paypal. Maybe the seller changed it to insurance required?

The seller might have it set as a default. It might be optional if it's under a certain amount and mandatory if it's over a certain amount.
They also might have it set up from a previous item they wanted to include mandatory insurance for and forgot to set it back to optional for your item. A simple E-mail to them might clear it up.
