Just the run of the mill for me. I do remember have a tough time even getting the Lundgren KC and couldn't figure out why. But the threads about the Lundgren card help explain why.

For a while now, I've thought my KC version was an EPDG & was still looking for a Cubs version. So I got out my cards to make sure before I posted. To my surprise, I still need a KC version & my Cubs is an EPDG. So add to the list

All three of mine are Cubs with the following backs:

PD150 - Raw vg
PD150 - SCG 10
PD350 - Raw pr

I had difficulties locating the PD350 and really lucked upon it. My search for the EPDG has been dismal and to know that it auctioned for $600 was discouraging. I have run across many 150's, but mostly at shows as they don't seem to pop up much on web. Though nothing like a Magie or Doyle, the Lundgren (Cubs) with PD350 and EPDG definately deserves the attention as a rare find. How rare..........? It would be great if we could everyone to check their collections and get some good pops of the raw ones to append to the graded.

I know I would have bid more than $600 for that card and still cannot explain why it went so low. Maybe we will find through this thread that they are more abundant than believed to be and $600 is a fair price.

There was very brisk bidding on ebay in the Fall of '07 on a Lundgren/Cubs /EPDG (PSA4).
It sold for $860. I was surprised that it didn't go for over 1000....as the seller claimed that
this card was the only one in that category in the POP report.

I feel both surprised and validated to find out that the PD350 and EPDG Cubs Lundgren are neck and neck. I'm glad you left it open for updates so we can get an accurate % to go off of. Whoever won the auction for $600 should be pleased this survey took place after the fact.

I'll check with some of the old salts that I know who are hidden from the general population and see what they have tucked away in their collections.

Let's wait and see where this survey takes us. It's too early to draw any conclusions.
I hope we get a full week's worth of responses and then we will have a truer picture
of the back population of these two Lundgren cards.

At this point the data is somewhat skewed toward the tougher backs, since all of us
with the EPDG and Carolina Brights backs are excited to report them. After a random
response of 100+ inputs, a population pattern will reveal itself.

Actually, what surprises me the most (so far) is the very low number of Sweet Cap-
oral 350/30 backs that have been reported on the Lundgren (KC) card. This T-back,
next to the Piedmont backs, is the most easiest back to find on T206's.

I have an SGC40 Lundgren W/ Cubs 150 subjects on a Piedmont back from factory #25.

Is it too early to deduce anything at all about the EPDG Back rarity of the Lundgren card as it realtes to that of the "Elite Eight"?

It is way to early in this survey to draw any conclusions regarding EPDG backs on these two T206's.
By the time we get 100+ inputs, we can start seeing a pattern.

The data, on the "elite eight" survey from 2 years ago, was collected for a period of over one year.
And, out of a total sampling of 1184 cards, only 20 of these cards had EPDG backs.

This Elite Eight survey's results is consistent with Barry Arnold's EPDG thread and survey of 4 years
ago. Barry's survey sampled 1000+ T206's, resulting in only 1.5% of this T206 population with EPDG
backs.

KC is a P350.

The only thing I can say for certain is that a lot of Piedmont 150 backs will be reported for the Lundgren (Cubs).
And, a lot of Piedmont 350 backs will be reported for the Lundgren (KC).

I continue to receive emails from Net54 readers with more Lundgren inputs. But, inputs from regulars who post
here have stopped. With all the T206 collecting power that resides on this forum, I find it hard to believe, that
as Peggy Lee used to sing....." Is That All There Is ? "


Anyway, I have received 5 more Lundgren inputs these past 2 days. But if this survey's data is going to reflect
a reasonable population of these two T206 Subjects, there needs be 100 - 200 total inputs.


So far, 24 regulars have posted a total of 78 inputs here. And, I really appreciate your time and effort. So how
about all of you who have not contributed yet....please check-out your T206's and tell us about your Lundgren
cards ?

I think it might be possible that quite a few of the regular T206 collectors may be short on Lundgren.

There are more Lundgren cards out there, Ray.....however, T206 surveys aren't as popular as
they were 2-4 years ago on this forum.

It is what it is.......not every one gets "addicted" to various T-brand backs like some of us do.

Yet, how many on this board, in the past 5 years, have been suckered into buying Graded (or
ungraded) T206's that have impossible front/back combinations ?

the 100-card milestone. However, I would like to see many more inputs here, in order to get
a more representative sampling of these two Lundgren cards. We are not at that point with
just a 100-card sample.

I rummaged through a friends collection that has been sitting in a case since the late eighties. It was fun to go through an elderly man's cards still in the original, yellowing, rigid holders they were jammed into in 1986. This guy used to buy in the mid eighties and I dealt with him as a kid in a shop I helped in after school. I am for sure he has treasures in this box, but he will take them to his grave and didn't seem too excited to have me thumb through them. Ironically, I only found two KC P350's in his collection. I was certain to find an EPDG!

This collection hasn't been viewed by anyone in two decades so I'm going to review the forum for variation inquiries and see if I can locate any for pop reports in his treasure. I know I'm getting long winded but I remember him telling me "if you ever find a Wagner......trade it for a Topps Mantle rookie in nice condition. That Wagner will be found in hourds with all this publicity and won't be worth a Cobb!"

My guess on the total number of Lundgren (Cubs) cards with the tougher Piedmont 350 back
is in the range of 15 - 25.

The value of your card for normal T206 collectors is approx. $100.

And, for "back nuts" like me, perhaps $150.

Help me out with this one. How can a card with a pop of under 30 carry such a low price? The Cubs in general are highly sought after and Lundgren is already known to be somewhat more difficult to source than the other non-hofers in the set. I think it will be very difficult to find a PD350 for that price range after this post.
