I'd never seen this PC before...and foolishly thought I could steal it at $425 or so on a snipe...ha!

What is it exactly, how rare...how close to ending price is the value?

My snipe didn't set either. Then again it didn't matter as veangregg won it so we would have had just as much luck bidding a dollar.

apparently, it is worth $1100 to somebody. I know the buyer, and when it comes to PCL items they don't have they will pay what it takes to get it. I was genuinely shocked by the price, not because of the nature of the piece, but just due to the crappy condition. I could see a price like that for a nice example.

This was a case of a few collectors all really wanting a genuinely tough PCL item, the condition was secondary. I also had a snipe that didn't even register, so you weren't alone.

Very cool postcard...The winner is a friend of mine and he saw it as soon as it was listed. Let's just say the auction was over at that moment.

That seller Kansaspaper has had some great postcards in the last year or so.

Either way it's still pretty neat that this far down the road pieces like this turn up that haven't really been seen by the mainstream.
