Help with "vintage" (1953) Set

While looking at the SGC Pop Report for Neal Ball cards, I noticed this card:

1953 Baseball Quaker Oats Ripley's Believe It Or Not! #11 NEAL BALL

Does anyone have some information on this set as I can't find anything.

Thanks,
ChiSoxFan

Looking for T206 in Poor to Good condition.

I believe the common parlance is Quaker Sports Oddities and they are relatively common.

Quaker Sports Oddities... Mr. Sugar's work attributes the cards to 1954.

F-279-20 is his designation.

He lists #11 in the set as Betty Robinson. There's a lot of 16 of the cards on eBay that lists #11 as Betty Robinson, too.

I don't have one, so I don't know. But I have doubts about #11 being Neal Ball. Mr. Sugar lists 27 cards, none of them sound like baseball cards to me except for #27, Yankee Stadium. Most are football, I think. Several colleges, Bronko Nagusrski, hockey, Eddie Rickenbacker...

It's the Ripleys set.

If you search the non-sport forum I think there's a thread about them.

to everyone helping with getting info on this set.

Red -- Do own the card in your post? If so, is it for sale?

Not for sale. Although it's sports related the set it comes from is probably considered more of a non-sport issue. I'd try the non-sports forum and there may be more than one Ripley's set that would contain the card. The card I showed was 39 and your checklist showed 11.
