Help with a Ray Dandridge item

Did I just make an incredible find? Or did I waste a few bucks on a crummy modern photo that someone beat up to make it look aged?

At $8.50, it is a good risk, not sure one way or the other.

That was my thinking. Plus most people don't bother putting facsimile signatures on modern photo prints, so I thought there might be some hope here.

Ryan, where are you????????????????????

Just wondering...

What about the photo would make it a great find? Because it is an early photo of a hall of famer? Due to the scarcity of Negro League/Mexican League memorabilia?

Despite what many say, they ARE still plenty of steals on eBay, hopefully this is one of them!!!

My hope is that it is some sort of premium or team issue that was issued during Dandridge's career in the Mexican League, the Cuban League, or the Negro Leagues. I think that would make it a great find. If it's just a print of a photo, then not so great.

Paul,

I would email Ryan direct at:

Ryan@cubanbaseballcards.com

When he was last on the board, he indicated that he might not be checking back often and anyone who wanted him should contact him that way.

Good luck!

Paul,

Very curious about this item. I've never seen or heard of any kind of premium like this thing. The image on it is probably the most common image of Dandridge in Mexico. Still, it doesn't scream out "fake" the way most fake items do. Maybe a page from a magazine? Is the white part behind actually part of the item, or is it just the black and white image? I'd love to see it in person. It would be easy for me tell you if it's real if I had it in my hands. Certainly worth an $8.50 gamble, in my opinion. Probably not real, but could be the best deal ever on ebay if it is. If you get a chance, send me some scans once you get it.

I guess I should of upped my snipe from $8, as I was the under bidder.

Ryan, I'll definitely send scans to you when it arrives. Feel free to send them to Matt too if you think he can help.
