Thanks to Frank Ward for my latest pickup, a 1947 Homogenized Bread Jackie Robinson rookie card. By the way, the last image comes from a 1950s Sport Magazine ...

Thanks. The card on the left actually is a Roberto "Chico" Barbon card but they used Jackie Robinson's image for some reason.

I am in the middle of reading 'Opening Day' 'The story of Jackie Robinson's First Season' by Jonathan Eig so tonight when I sit down to read it will be extra real. It's amazing to read and think about what he had to go through, the pressure always on him, every moment, every second, he could never let up. It was his burden to carry and he did it, amazing he made it through the first couple months, and definately led to an early death. What a great man !

How can one tell if the Old Gold (1948) cig ad that Jackie did is a reprint?

I think people should give alittle credit to Moses Fleetwood Walker. I know Robinson did most of the it but their were other's before him.
