Hello to all visitors! Please visit the NEW Net54 board at
www.Net54baseball.com
You can directly contact the moderator here if you have any questions or comments. Enjoy!
With a bit of trepidation the new board is open for registration. This board will again stay open just in case. It will definitely be open for some days though I am not sure how long right now. It's a great fall back if something breaks again.
The new registration process is in place too. It should work the correct way this time and each registered member, after they register, will be required to supply, via an email to me:
1. User ID
2. first and last name
3. Daytime phone #
That phone number will STAY PRIVATE. Your first and last name will stay private unless you get into a situation where you can't be anonymous.
After I receive the email from the registration, with the above info, you will be approved. If anyone doesn't want to send that email they can still lurk and read the board just as they can now. You will have to be registered to see the BST but that is the only part you will need to be registered to see, except for some user info....but threads and other forums will be viewable to anyone, except those pesky trolls....They will find the new board not to their liking...
Matt brought up a good point. . each registered member, after they sign-up, will receive an email asking them to 1) click a link to validate their email address and
2) to supply, via an email to me:"
so there are 2 parts to it...don't worry....it will be ok

Hi Barry - you should receive an email asking for two things:
1) Asking you to email Leon your username, real name and phone #
2) Asking you to click a link to validate your email account.
It may take up to 10 minutes after you register to receive the email.
Lets see how this plays out again. My thought was there was supposed to be an initial email that asked you to send the personal info to leon@net54baseball.com though I am not sure that is happening....at any rate I will approve once I have that info......We will be fine this time...
So far so good just give me a little bit to approve everyone, guys and girls....I can only go so fast. I promise no one will be left out.....I appreciate everyone's patience.......

I haven't received a confirmation email yet and it's been over 10 minutes. I sent my info to Leon, but haven't had the opportunity to "click the link". This is the same problem I had a few weeks back when we switched.
With so many registrations through cyberspace I think some are lagging a little bit. I am approving every person when I get the email with contact information. Someone asked if they really have to send it even though they are well known. The answer is "yes"...please.....

If any Yahoo users DID get the email or any users who are non Yahoo users DON't get the email within 10 minutes of singing up, please let me know as it will help isolate the issue.
I am definitely not getting as many emails with contact information as I should be.....and they are coming in slowly when I am getting them. So ya'll hang in there. I still feel good about the way it's going. Lets hold all other requests, other than registering questions, for the time being. Once again, there is a new slate and everyone except one person will be allowed to come to the board again. IF you have never raised roosters to cockfight you will be allowed to register.... thanks to all.

Folks - there is an issue right now with Yahoo emails it seems. If you signup with a Yahoo account, you will not get any emails from the board. Email leon directly at leon@net54baseball.com with your Username, Name and Phone # and he will approve you manually.
edited to add: Hotmail and Gmail (amongst others) all seem to be fine. We only know about an issue with Yahoo right now.

Darn yahoo...couldn't do our web hosting or email stuff.....
Everyone will be approved so hang in there folks. If you don't get approved very quickly please send that info as Matt just said....
On the very rare occasion that you get approved without sending the info just know that in the not too distant future you will get an email from me asking for it. The main thing right now is to get everyone approved. best regards

Thanks Jeff.
The only unresolved issue we know about is with people signing up with Yahoo email accounts (which should be fixed within 24 hours). If anyone is seeing any other issue, please let us know.
Also, I posted this in another thread, but it bears repeating - I don't believe any posts made on this forum after 12:50 EST this afternoon will be brought over to the new forum, so please bring the conversations over to the new forum so we don't lose the valuable content when this forum eventually gets shut down. Mike has done a phenomenal job of completely replicating the archives from this forum on the new forum, including all posts up until early this afternoon.

FWIW, since I am a bit of a privacy freak.
The email address for registration - the one to which you email Leon your info - is the same as the email address that is given for contacting "a member of our support staff". This suggested to me that more people then just Leon have access to those emails.
So ... because of the privacy thing I sent my email to Leon's flash.net address. Sorry if it causes an issue Leon, but I didn't want my unpublished phone number going to a mailbox if I don't know who all has access to it. Just my quirky little thing, but I wanted to make others aware of it too.
It also gave me an opportunity to drop Leon just a tiny little note, so that's all good too.
Looking forward to checking out the new board again.
I just got the weirest error when trying to post and lost my whole message.
Suffice it to say if anyone feels uncomfortable sending that contact info to another email account they can use my personal one too....which is in this post right here...
