I disagree wholeheartedly with most of what you're saying. Incidentally, I'm well aware of what Sean Penn did and the statements made by Susan Surandon, and I most certainly do not agree that he is a traitor or that her expressions of opinion are inappropriate.
What is traitorous in this situation is a person who suggests that any American, whether that American is a celebrity or not, should keep quiet about their political views. People seem to be confusing patriotism with not-saying-anything-negative-about-the-president-or-his-policies. No person should be reprimanded for speaking out again Bush if he/she wants to do so. It's traitorous to the American ideals of liberty and freedom and expression to suggest otherwise.
