You might want to keep some bear repellant handy in your tank bag.

Last weekend when Pete and I were scouting bonuses, we saw a bear! Pete's scouting bonuses again right now, and when he called last night he told me he saw another bear!

And a moose, and some deer.

We also suggest a good working flashlight....

check and check

Bear repellant - Remington 30-06, I don't see any border crossing issues with that.

Flashlight - I got my 10 million candlepower spotlight I use for shining, er, looking for down deer at night. That should work.

That sounds like fun to me, Susan. Where were the bears and the moose?

Yeah, Jayd - like I told you Saturday at Brian's party, I really like going to Como Zoo. There's a nice polar bear there, but I don't think I've ever seen a moose there.

You should have had daJuice come with you to the party. He couldve brought the deer and bear he got with the 30-06 he shot while shining them with the spotlight. Good eating!

Bear sightings in Canada

Jim

I was scouting......in Canada......and I saw two bears too. Mine were east of Thunder Bay near the Ouimet Canyon. One was far, under a power line, and another appeared later, on the side of the road. I was out for a fun ride. I don't carry bear spray, you need to declare it at the border, and besides, black bears can be chased by clapping your hands and yelling at them.

I still remember that moose we jumped south of Baudette, with the flame throwers blasting. Later, at a gas stop, I also remember Rich asking, "What was that animal?"
