This would be his candidate for sure!

John Charles Wilson announced on Tuesday that he would run for mayor of Minneapolis with the support of his newly founded political party, the Edgertonite National Party. Wilson says part of the reason he is running is to unseat local officials who condoned police brutality at the [Republican National Convention]. He calls Minneapolis current mayor Raymond Thomas Tear Gas Rybak.

Wilsons Edgertonite National Party is based on the Lauraist religion, a movement he created that believes Laura Ingalls Wilder is God and that the Lauraist homeland will occupy an area within a 240-mile radius of Minneapolis.

A new nation, to be called Edgerton, with its capital at Minneapolis, should be created on the land from approximately Hibbing to Des Moines, and from Fargo to Madison, says Wilsons campaign Web site.

Communism is the mode of government of said nation, with an abolition of all laws except those necessary for public safety.

Wilson has written two books, The Principles of Lauraism and The Conscience of a Communist.

Wilson says he was institutionalized in the early 1980s because of his political and religious beliefs.

I'm starting a "Draft Ken Bryant for Governor" movement. The party's slogan will be "Why not Ken?" If Franken can get elected...

I'd vote for Ken.

More possible slogans:

"He can't be worse then Franken"

"Not a tax cheat" (subject to vetting)

"Laugh with a Senator, instead of AT a Senator"

"He's got the Laura Ingalls Wilder is God vote"

Sorry Bart, Ken is not qualified to run for public office. I think it takes at least and advanced degree in law or political science to understand the complexities of our government. It takes years of public service starting at the at the grass-roots level, then moving up moving up to greater and greater public office responsibilities. It takes keen knowlege of world affairs, history, the military and micro- and macro-economics. It takes a Washington, a Lincoln, an Eisenhower or a Reagan, who, at their core, is a strong leader of people with unquestionable morals, standards and jusgement. It takes someone like...Al Franken.
