Anyone remember visiting this place? A mere 813 miles from Minneapolis, plus they speak French!

Here's another bad road worth the effort:

Road Conditions humor:

"First vehicle (Jordan Valley side) came driving into town on 10 May 2009. Road won't be officially open until Friday 22 May 2009"

Must have been a Stranger.

Well, if we're going to Silver City, then this stop makes sense. I haven't been near this one since '03; very remote.

ooooooohh, a bonus location with controversy! There is some dissagreement about whether this is the real Charb. Don't mention that to the locals though. "NEW YORK CITY, get a rope."

When all these roads are dry and not washed out, they are easily reached on a road bike.

Although I did punch a rock through the oilpan of dad's R75 going to the summit of War Eagle Mt. out of Silver City. That made him strangely unhappy. JB weld and some picnic table hammering fixed it right up, and it drove all the way back to MN that way. Special thanks to the ATV owner with the extra oil.

Heh. Thinking about that day brought back some memories. After I hit the rock it sounded funny so I shut the engine off immediatly and waited for him to come back. When he saw what happened he unleased some profanity.

In high school and involved in faith cults at the time, I said to him very sincerely, "There's no need to take the Lord's name in vain."

Good times, good times.

Went there on my first rally, the MN2K. The roads leading there sucked but it was kinda cool way out there in the middle of nowhere! On the way back it was the Fainting Goats of Plentywood, Montana!

Pfft. EVERYONE knows that Ecto 1 was built on a Miller-Meteor chassis and not a Eureka chassis! At least they got the year right....

Above is the original Ecto-1. Note rear glass and door configuration.
