Howdy

Sev Pearman calling.

Some of you know me as the editor of Minnesota Motorcycle Monthly®; others know me as a film and video lighting tech. I also serve as an MSF Instructor.
I am writing today as the producer of a new TV series, Classic Motorcycle Roadshow®

We are finishing up our pilot episode and are looking to film a bike + rider THIS THURSDAY (Sat 10/24 weather day)
We had a pre-WWII bike and rider lined up, but due to circumstances beyond our control, have to source an 11th-hour replacement.

We are looking for a bike that looks like an old bike to non-riders.
Some possibilities:
- - - - -
/2 BMW and earlier
early Shovelhead H-D and earlier
Early K/Sportster
Any Indian twin
pre-71 Triumph/BSA/Norton
Some Japanese bikes considered for this segment, but would have to be pre-69 (no I-4 UJMs)
BONUS - hand shift
BONUS - flat tank
BONUS - belt drive
BONUS - other US make: Ace, Cleveland, Excelsior, Henderson, Pierce, Pope, Reading, Yale

If we could wave the magic wand, we'd want something pre-1950.
If we strike gold, it'd be post WW-I to 1932

OTHER THOUGHTS:
Bike will be ridden and should look it. A little oil mist , faded paint or wear is OK.
Not really looking for a museum or trailer queen.
No WW-II bikes for this segment. (We hope to do a show on them in the future)

PLEASE NO:
Disc brakes
choppers
recent Big Twin super customs
blinged out Gold Wings
scooters
Trikes
Rat Bikes
No sidecars for this segment, though we'd love to do a show on them in the future

We would have the rider meet us at a metro-area location for some simple driving shots.
This would be all slow speed, nothing over 30 mph.
We are budgeting 7:30 - 5:00, but may finish earlier.

Compensation?
My partner and I are buying you lunch, paying for your fuel and will give you a DVD of the finished product.
This one is for the glory; pure and simple

Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested and willing

Due to the time crunch, I request you call my cell (below) if you have any questions or are interested.
Thank you for your time and your help

Sounds pretty cool. Old bikes are a celebration of making things. Designed, engineered and manugactured by people - not computers. Try and find that today.

BBQ vintage bike

Mr. Minister,

I have a 1965 250cc "Moto Ducati" scrambler, but alas it is not running (I keep saying it's a retirement project).

If you can't find a good motorcycle, I DO have a 1920 Royal upright vacuum cleaner in perfect condition. It's a daily runner, too. Well, ok, maybe I don't vacuum with it every day. Maybe it's more like a once-every-couple-of-weeks runner, or sooner if the cats get in a fight and leave globs of fur behind.

I'd have to say that my 89-year-old vacuum cleaner, complete with an electric headlight, has the look of a classic Vincent. It's a real piece of closet candy. I've been offered vast sums for it, but I just laugh in their face and tell them my baby is not for sale at any price.

I'm told this powerhouse sucker received rave reviews from the vacuum-cleaner press in its day, and swept "best overall upright" honors in Vacuum World from 1921-1927.

I don't know how you could pass it up.

I have one..but

October 21 2009, 1:07 PM

I could not do anything on Thursday...work has me out of town most of the day, however Saturday would work.

The bike is a nice (all) stock, original paint 1970 Triumph TR6R in Spring Gold...or faded green to us in the US

I have some others but I think the TR6 is the best for what you describe.

73 Norton Interstate (disk brake)
68 Triumph T100C (high pipe/freash paint/Extra chrome)
66 Triton ... Not running right now..but could be (by Saturday) if you ask nice wink.gif (Alloy tank/Clip ons)
