I remember riding to the start of the GLMC Harvest Rally in early October of 2012 in a late afternoon snow squall. At the start, the temperature was 32° and there was snow on the rooftops and in some of the fields as I rode south from Otter Tail Lake. I don't think it got above 40° before noon where I was riding.
I will be at the start tomorrow morning, ready to ride.
Already under the weather, officiating at two weddings this week, surgery in a week. I couldn't afford to get sick. And with that much moisture, I'm pretty sure that I would. This was my first ever DNS in all of my years of rallying. It really was a difficult decision.
I haven't missed a Lyle or DogDaze in a long time.
I came in, paid my fee, visited with the staff and riders.
I'm good with my call.
