if you didnt know....they did hold the rifles...there was the Papua and New Guinea Battalions, than the carriers and than the villages along Koiari...both the Papua and New Guinea battalions now form the 1RPIR (1st royal pacific island regiment....and in the middest of those, we had the scouts, the cooks and the native resistance...the guerrillas...there are alot about the history of Papuans and New Guineans who fought the war that has not being documented...they where in their 20s...my g'father was part of the papua battalion and the other was the cook...for the frontliners...
