Democracies have scarcely any censorship, despite the fact people may write and say things that the higher ups don't approve of. But in a mature, functioning democracy, those whose disapprove still learn how to bite their tongue and let things be. To demand that people follow a certain way of thinking or discussing is nonsustainable. IT may last for a while (see, for example the Middle Eastern revolutions) but sooner or later it breaks down.
