v1.09 patch for D1: thank you, Blizzard!

By now everyone playing classic Diablo has probably downloaded the v1.09 patch. It's major function seems to be the fixing of the "walking bug", wherein it was extremely difficult for characters to walk (I believe) perfectly horizontally or vertically on the screen. The computer AI, when generating your character's walking route, would constantly choose long paths running NE, NW, SE, or SW, much to your figure's detriment if he/she was under fire from ranged attackers.

Now your characters can really dodge again! And "happy feet" for strafing works too! Playing ironman is a LOT more enjoyable now that figures can dodge if you just try hard enough -- really makes you pay much closer attention to the game.

Anyone know what got into Blizzard to make such a good move? Not that I'm complaining! No, no! Just asking! Don't change it back!

Anyone else enjoying the switch?

Let the Ironman games roll!
