"A Wild Haruki Chase"

by

International Symposium & Workshops named "A Wild Haruki Chase" were held on March 25 and 26 at the Tokyo University Komaba Campus. Unfortunately I could not attend the first day's symposium. I heard Richard Powers was guest speaker and discussions were excited there.

I attended the Workshop 1 "Translation" on March 26. It was very interesting worshop. Ten translators including Jay Rubin from US and Dmitry Kovalenin from Russia translated "Spanner" and "Spider-Monkey at Night" into their own languages. They read some parts and explained hard points for translations. I enjoyed 3 hour talks very much.

I hope reports of the Symposium & Workshop will be available in Japanese and any other languages soon. You can read some parts at the following Chinapost. Please enjoy.
