the best bands of Death metal are Cradle of filth children of Bodom and dimmu borgir IN THAT ORDER!!
don't even try to tell me Dani's vocals suck nothing compares, nothing..

no no cradel of filth is not the best of death metal by far...

im leaning more tords mortitian, canible corpse, and krisiun... but then again thats my opinion not yours and we are both entitled to them.. yada yada yada.. super satanic christ raping \M/etal forever...

Hmmm.. Lately I'm more into the melodic death/black metal stuff like:

Opeth, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, Susperia, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Soilwork, Night In Gales, etc..

But in the more brutal genre that you mentioned I would have to go with:

Morbid Angel, Monstrosity, Sinister (old stuff), ya gotta love Deicide, Cannibal Corpse.
