Ok, for those of you who do not know this, I have been writing fics that take place after an episode. This one starts out during the ep but finishes afterwards. I changed some of the details in the actual ending of the ep, you'll notice that. :-) Enjoy. Oh, and please I'd like some feedback. Thank you.
Ali Rashid and the Forty Thieves
Zorah was sitting in her room, seeking peace. The candles blew out and a strange light entered the room, "Zorah, how have you been?"
"Master Dim-Dim, I haven't had contact with you for more than a year. I am better now that I know my brother is all right. Where have you been?"
"You name it. At this moment I'm somewhere between the earth and space, compliments of Turok. Could you do me a favor? There's this young woman in Sinbad's crew that could do with some advice…" Zorah nodded as Dim-Dim explained the problem.
"I'll do my best." Later after things had cooled down, Zorah sat at her desk and wrote something down.
Sinbad sat in his cabin mulling over the day when a soft knock on his door pulled him from his thoughts. *Bryn? He shoved that appealing thought aside knowing that Bryn wouldn't be knocking on his door unless something was wrong. That thought propelled him to the door, "Bryn? Is everything all…Shirez?!?" Sinbad's blue eyes widened in disbelief as he saw Shirez standing at his door.
"I guess you weren't expecting me." He shook his head dumbly, "Can I come in?"
Sinbad stood to one side and let her in. He finally found his voice, "What are you doing here?"
"Doubar told me which room was yours, I wanted to thank you for saving my life even after I betrayed you and Rongar."
"Its all right. You didn't have to come aboard for that." Sinbad shrugged aside her thanks.
"That's not all. I was wondering if you'd like to finish what we started earlier?"
"I wish I could, but there's only one woman I want. She's currently unavailable, but I don't want to hurt her."
"I see. Bryn means that much to you?" Sinbad nodded slowly, "Why don't you let her know of your feelings?"
"I can't. You see, she had amnesia."
As Sinbad talked to Shirez, Rongar and Zorah rebuilt bridges that had been broken through circumstances. As he was leaving, she handed him a package for Bryn. "Give this to her, my brother. She needs it." Rongar nodded as he left his sister.
When Shirez came up with Sinbad, she noticed Bryn standing with the guys. "Might I suggest something, Captain?" And when he turned towards her, she kissed him. "A little jealousy might help your cause." She whispered to him, reluctantly leaving the handsome captain. Rongar nodded as she passed him and she watched as the Nomad drifted out of port.
Rongar put his cloak away and picking up the packet, ran over to Bryn. She looked at him curiously and he signed that it was from his sister. Bryn excused herself from the guys and went below, wondering what Zorah could have to say to her. Sinbad shook his head and sighed wondering what it would take to get through to her.
Bryn sat on her bunk and opened the letter:
Bryn,
First of all I'd like to thank you for helping me save my brother, he means a lot to me. I know you must be feeling alone and confused, especially because of Maeve and her role. But you don't need to be afraid, You are not meant to fill her shoes. Dim-Dim choose you because of your generous heart. Don't be afraid to use it. As for you powers, as Tetsu said they flow naturally through you but there is still no reason to fear.
You have ended up in the best of company, they will stand by you through thick and thin. A great trial awaits you and they will help see you through. Be there for Sinbad, he needs you to help him heal wounds inside. Be his friend and don't be afraid to love him.
This is a special gift for you. In it you can write about your feelings, your thoughts, and your experiences. Who knows? This may help you put together the pieces of your life. J Most of all don't be afraid of life, enjoy this time while you have it.
Zorah
The words blurred before Bryn's eyes, she felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted off her shoulders, a burden she hadn't realized she'd been carrying. She opened the book and began to make a record of her life so far.
Dear Diary,
I guess I should tell you a bit about myself. I have dark hair and eyes and am medium height, possessing of some unuaual abilities. I'm the only woman on board this wonderful ship called the Nomad. I seem to be in her early twenties. I said seems to be because I don't know that much about myself. I awoke on an island a few months ago. There I meant the most wonderful men I think I've ever had the privilege to know. :-) There's Sinbad, he's the Captain of the Nomad. He's very brave and would risk his life to save one who betrayed him or one he doesn't know. We both share these unusual rainbow bracelets, neither of us knows how we got them. It seems to be a bond between us. I have some feelings for my Captain that really confuse me, I wish I knew what to do about them. Anyway, we are the best of friends and I really like that. Then there's Doubar, Sinbad's big brother. He's taken me under his wing, but I feel that there is some sadness in his life. He has the biggest heart, it is his strongest muscle, though he is rather strong. I like him. We have a real prince on board, his name is Rongar. His sister Zorah gave me you, she is a wonderful lady. Rongar lost his tongue to Ali Rashid, but was able to save his people. Finally there's our physician Firouz. He's actually an inventor, some of the things he comes up with to save our necks continually amazes me. He is a bit absent minded though. Anyway, more about the crew will come as I learn more. Oh, there's Sinbad. I better get a move on it.
Bryn.
