It was evening on the Nomad and everyone was already asleep. Only two figures were standing at the reeling. They were talking like they always use to do. But something was different this time. Sinbad sighed. How should he tell her. He loved her so much. It already hurts... being near her, but not to touch her, not to kiss her. He wanted to take her in his arms, hold her, comfort her... love her. But what would she say? Would she also love him? What would be if she said no? He would danger a wonderful friendship. One of the best he ever experienced. But the imagination that this friendship could turn into love was too tempting. They were soul mates. He knew it. The always knew what the other part was thinking. They could communicate without words. They didn’t need them. Just one look was enough to know... or a single gesture which may not be noticed by a stranger.
“Sinbad, I can feel it. Something is wrong with you. I can feel it. You want to tell me something, don’t you?” Sinbad smiled. That was his Bryn. He couldn’t hide something from her. Bryn touched him on his arm. The feeling of her soft hand felt like a flash running through his whole body.
“Bryn, I love you!” He couldn’t have bit in his tongue. He wanted to tell it her not so... directly. But now it was too late. He looked at Bryn. She didn’t know what to think or to say. He felt an enormous pain in his heart. “Bryn?”
“Huh? Sorry, Sinbad... ahm... I mean... y... you... oh man... “ she stuttered. She was nervous now. She had always hoped that one day he would tell her these three words. She was only shocked that he told her this out of a clear sky. She began to shake. Suddenly she turned away from him and ran into her cabin and shut the door. Sinbad closed his eyes. An indescribable pain was flashing through his heart. With his fist he slammed on the reeling. He hoped that his hand would hurt more then the feeling inside, but he didn’t even noticed anything around him.
When Bryn closed the door she sank down. She embraced her knees and leaned her forehead on them. She still didn’t know what to think. She was confused. She never had such strong feelings before. And this scared her. It was going to fast. One moment they only were friends and the other moment he told her that he loved her. She needed time. That was all.
Suddenly she realized what she had done. He told her that he loved her and she ran away. What did he has to think? He had to be hurt! Oh no, that was the last thing she wanted. She opened her door and went back to the reeling. She hoped not to say something stupid
“Sinbad?” she whispered softly. Sinbad turned around. He didn’t expect that she would come back.
“Bryn! I’m so sorry... it was stupid from me to...”
“But Sinbad, I love you too!” she interrupted him. Nobody could imagine what he felt at the moment. It was being pulled out of a black hole and now he was surrounded by happiness. He took her hand and stroke her cheeks. “It’s only that it came too suddenly... I need time. Can you understand this?”
