There are photos and drawings of this configuration in the Tamiya News booklet on the Type 74, haven't seen this anywhere else, maybe this was done only early on in the service life of the tank, if you have the winter version Tamiya kit, make sure you don't use the gun barrel with thermal sleeve with the fuel tank.
