I've decided that I needed a change from building WWII armor so after hearing good things about the JSDF Type 90 kit, I decided that I would try my luck with this vehicle. My biggest problem is that I have zero reference material. My friend Joey Dorsey loaned me his Tamiya News book on the Type 90 and this has helped me alot but it has left me with some unanswered questions. I plan on using the two Eduard sets for the kit and replacing the molded on handles with brass wire, etc.
On the face of the gun mantlet there are two openings. From what I can determine, the lower and smaller opening is for a coaxle M.G. but I can't see from the pictures what is inside of the larger opening? If anyone has some closeup pictures of this area and pictures of the mineroller so that I may add welds on the frame where they are needed, I would appreciate your help tremendously! If there are any errors in the kit itself, I would also welcome this information.
