I d try get a marea gearbox mate.give responsive acceleration,but only downfall is u lose a bit of top end speed.Altho,i wudnt say u do tbh,ive had 32 outa mine and the statts on the 147 are 130 top speed.Suppose it does go on air flow and the right exhaust.

Given that all the 20v engines have so much power/torque to spare - and I'm assuming that you hav'nt driven at over 125 MPH recently, then why worry about differing gear ratios? Finding a 'box in good condition must be much more important...

Bear in mind that early 20v cars had a different design of gearbox. According to FIAT at the time the brand new gearbox that replaced it, (around 1998 sometime) was stronger and had a sweeter gearchange - though that may have been just improved linkage.

Scottish Transmission Services just off Alexadria Parade just did a new gearbox in my Bravo- great job and exceptional cheap
