I am looking at a bravo 1.8 hlx. The owner says the cam belt has snapped or the tensioner has broke. Will the valve's have bent on the pistons with this engine. Any advise welcome as i would like this Bravo even if i have to replace or rebuild the engine.

yes..... there will be a very high chance that all the valves are bent.

New engine is the best way, as changing the head is just a pain.... so is changing engine BUT you can change the belt and tensioner while it's out - thus more room.

As TK says, engine swap is best bet, as well as valves you could have piston damage

Thanks Tommy!

If i go for the engine swap is there any rules to follow with the ECU and the red key, ECU Number's to match model and year.
