The recommended set up for the HGT?

Had an advisory on the MOT for rear shocks so, as the current ones have done 102k miles am thinking of changing the lot.

Recommendations please. happy.gif

Well I think I'm gonna get a price from FIAT for the Abarth springs and dampers and go from there.

Anyone help me with the part numbers? Joske?

KW V1 OR V2 nothing better for the car imo take them to beset up after and the car will feel so much better, im using V2's on mine but V1's can be had for about £650 so a fair bargain considering they are the best on the market.

No offence carrol but in my experience ive had nothing but trouble with koni they always pack up or leak after a few months, ok if your on a budget but if you really want the best for your car id get KW the abarth sports suspension kit is nothing but hastle lol look what happened when i wanted new springs for the HGT lol it was cheaper to replace with all new std HGT shocks than the Front Abarth shocks and my local fiat dealer said they would have to order them in and they had no clue how long it would take...

Lowering abarth springs at Fiat are for the 1.4,16,1.8. None for the TD,JTD, HGT. Plus i dont think they can be ordered anymore.

Can't comment on the other models mentioned, but the Abarth lowering kit WAS available for the HGT. I had it on mine. And I never had any problems with them all the while I owned it.

I've just checked my Brio manuals and sales brochures again, as i may have overlooked the HGT, but im now 99% sure they aren't available for the TD,JTD, HGT. Maybe your HGT had the sport pack extra or an aftermarket upgrade, but they weren't the Abarth lowering springs. The HGT was available with an optional sport pack from new, all other Bravos did not have this option, therefore they had the abarth spring kit. I've checked eper, and it only shows the sport pack for the HGT, no abarth springs.

I've shown part of the abarth accessories below showing the spring kit, this is exactly the same as in all my accessory brochures.

Rob if you believe an Abarth spring kit for the HGT is available then just post the part number for Oz, as i unfortunately cannot find it.

Must've been the sport pack then but it was definitely OE fit.

Ok seems there are three spring kits for the HGT.

1. Standard.
2. Standard (with aircon)
3. Sport Pack (with aircon)

Anyway i did a bit of a google and came up with this...

http://www.channel4.com/4car/road-tests/F/fiat/bravobrava95-02/bravobrava95-02-ownerreport-1.html

Seems this guy with his Bravo HGT had abarth springs fitted, but he said it cost him £172.96 inc VAT and fitting but the Abarth Spring Kits start at £176 for the kit alone before fitting. So i can only assume this guy has been misinformed in what he was getting.

Oz if you do opt fot the HGT sport pack, there are some differences to the suspension and standard shocks may not be compatible.

From memory I think you're right about sport pack as opposed to Abarth but I'll give FIAT a shout anyway.

As for issues with shocks they need replacing anyway as that's why I'm thinking of doing the springs at the same time so it's all good. happy.gif

Can you post the part numbers please? Ta.

Sorry Donnylad - just seen your post - didn't mean to blank you.

£650?! I love her but let's just say that there are limits. To be honest I think that the only option for me will be the OEM sport pack so I'm just waiting for Joske to post up the part numbers I need for springs and shocks.
