What is needed to do a rear disc conversion on a Bravo?

might be helpful to tell us which bravo you have....

Sorry forgot the title! 1.2, I had guessed the rear drums are pretty much the same through out the range.

Actually which Bravo/a you have will make no difference. Floorplan underneath is moreorless the same throughout the range - there was no difference between my 1.9TD Brava and my 1.2 Bravo.

You'll need:

> Handbrake Cables
> Discs
> Pads
> Calipers
> Bleed kit
> Brake pipes (not much, just enough to replace whats on the rear arms)
> Caliper piston rewind tool
> Disc dust shields

And you'll need about 3-4 hours or get someone who knows what they are doing to do it instead (like I did ).

Depending on the donor vehicle and your vehicle you may have to drill some holes in the dust shield for the ABS sensors. Additionally you may need new hubs, but unlikely as the kit just goes on-top of the hub - but again will vary on donor and receiving car.

So from the donor car I need just:
1)Calipers
2)Dust shield

And I can buy the rest new! Or could I take the handbrake cable and brake pipes from the donor car aswell?

Do you have pictures of your conversion? Did you get a garage to fit them?

Oh I'm sorry Anon for not being informative. Considering the original question asked what was needed, I answered the best I could at the time - if that doesn't meet your criteria for an informative read, lump it.

For the original poster: all I can say is that it's a relatively straightforward process of removing the items on the hub and stripping it right back. Once you're there, place the replacement items back on. I don't have a walkthrough guide and very few relevant pictures. There are however, plenty of previous threads on this subject which may help enlighten (use the search feature).

The process is not rocket science and is something I could have done myself with some working out - but given a knowledgeable and skilled ex BOO member was willing to fit them for me, it struck me as a good idea (saved on time and gave some peace of mind the job was done right).

And yes you can get new cables, et al - if anything its best to do that as you'll know the history of the components then (ie not stretched etc).
