Honestly for £300 I couldn't do better anywhere.

Acers are generally pretty good now (mine's lasted 3 and a bit years). I don't think you'd be going far wrong with that one.

you can get dell for that sort of price too now

I thought I recognised that number....


We got this exact same laptop last month for the office.


With the number pad it's just like having a normal desktop keyboard, but the space saving of a laptop.



The screen is amazing... just like Kates Macbook.

It's also super light with a good battery life & excellent WiFi connection.


I so wanted to hate the poor acer as my current acer has issues...... but I can't fault it.



the only down side is the highly reflective screen and gloss finish... shows every finger print and the sun really shines back at you.



For £300 it's a good buy in my opinion as the boss paid £350 last month in PC world and they are they were on offer at that price!!!



oh... and it's bloody quick even running vista!!

Had a look at the Dell's and for the same money it's lower spec. Also, with the one from Tesco I get 10% off and have a ton in clubcard vouchers so would end up costing me about £220 after discounts.

Ant - Thanks for the offer chap but I'd like to go brand new but a bit more info might tempt me (spec, age, etc...).

Probably about the best value for money, allbeit Dell being better products IMO.

Have you checked the Dell outlet website?

It's just basically where people order computers online to spec, then decide before devliery they don't want it.

I've had maybe 5-6 off there in the last 12 months.

Last week I picked up a Quadcore 2.66Ghz / 4GB Ram / Vista 32bit / 500GB HDD / Radeon HD4670 for £459 plus delivery. No Monitor of course.

Well thanks for all the advice both on here and by text guys. Went for it in the end and after discounts it set me back just shy of £220.

Quite impressed so far. The mouse is a little odd but can quickly get used to it and I got a free mini optical USB mouse with the bag I bought so can use that if it gets awkward.

Finally joined the 21st Century!

the only dislike about the laptop, is the fact the USB's are on the left... and my mouse wire isn't long enough to reach to the right hand side w/out being tight up against the machine.


I like space to work!!.... and the mouse is bloody quire!!


I think you can turn the multi-touch off tho
