Hey as from my other post i've just changed the whole boot on my bravo 1.2sx.
I wanted the hlx/hgt spoiler, so got a HGT boot cheap and had it sprayed.
Fitted it yesterday.
Firstly using the original hinge from my car and the gap was very noticable.
So have now changed the hing for the one of the HGT but I still dont think its right.

Heres a pic:

Im a just obsessing or is it bad??

Any advice on what it could be cos theres no play in the hinge?

Just checked my Bravo and its almost half the size of that gap. The boot can be adjusted but don't ask me how.

Is the gap the same on the other side?

Yeh its the same all around.
Really dont see how it can be adjusted as its straight bolted in.
They only way i can think its to grind either of the holes to be longer so it can slide.

Starting to wish i'd left her alone :oS

there should be some movement in the bolts on either end of the hinges, when i have to replace my old brava boot i had the same and found that it wasn't the bolts on the tailgate end it was the ones that were hiden in the headling by a couple of plastic covers

No deffinately no movement on any bolt.
Was supirsed that the boots had 2 different hinges!
There a chance that the HGT boot is of a mark 1 and thats why its not sitting properly?
Thanks

As Andy says, you should be able to adjust the tailgate with the screws in the headlining
