I may upset a few folks with this comment but i'm going to throw it out there!

Any one feel the new Volkswagen Sirocco Should have been the new Bravo.

Bear with and look at my picture evidence:

Anybody agree??

I just think the New Bravo has lost all traces of sportiness and is more like a OAP car.

To say the Bravo has lost all traces of sportiness is perhaps a little harsh but I see where you are coming from.

I have seen a few Sciroccos around and they do look good.

I do think that with the right colour, wheels, etc the latest Bravo is a decent car. It also has a bit more exclusivity (if that's the right word) compared with the Scirocco, which will be common as muck in 6 months time.

I guess with the Bravo they wanted it to be a sporty mid-sized family car, meaning it had to have 5 doors, decent headroom, etc. I haven't seen inside a Scirocco but would imagine the space in the rear is extremely limited due to the car's shape.

Really, the bravo is competition for the golf, which in my opion looks dull and drives duller.

Fiat have nothing to compete with the scirocco which is a stunning looking car!

OAP car? The boy's a fool.
Have you driven one?
Have you even sat in one?

I own a B2 150 Active and it drives like a dream in comparison with my Mk1 B1 1.6 SX, even when it was new over 10 years ago.

The Scirocco GT has a turbocharged 2 litre engine giving 197 BHP with a 0-62 time of 7.2 seconds. Cost new - £20k plus.

The B2 150 Sport has a turbocharged 1.4 engine giving 150 BHP with a 0-62 time of 8.2 seconds. Cost new - Sub £15k.

Go figure, as the Yanks say.

You want flash, sporty Italian? Go buy yourself a Masserati. Oooh, oooh, I wish!

i agree, the new bravo has lost a few of the old touches. i dont like the new bravos personally, and would much rather have a grande punto GP. happy.gif

If you search the forum you will find that it was mentioned when the early pics of the VW were about prior to it's release. It really should have been the look of the new bravo.
