Just bought a 1997 HGT147 which is my first Fiat

I've got a couple of queries:

Airbag warning light is on - if I take to a Fiat Garage do I need the red key which I don't have? How do i go about getting it reset?

Why for 147hp does the car not feel particularly fast? It goes but just doesn't seem to have any pickup or surge in power?

airbag light can be re-set via diaganostic equipment, and i dont believe you need your red key for it, not many people have cause to use the red key anyways. as for your power issue could you explain a bit more please, it could be a faulty maf sensor as these tend to go if your using an aftermarket filter or its become dirty

the airbag light can be reset, there is little point however as it will just come back on again (mine has been reset 2 times and went off for about 2 weeks each time)

power, the hgt has a very smooth power delivery. if its not pulling after 4k its going to be a maf most likely, these can be cleaned but dont, just get another one
there about £120 (go for a genuine part, not a copy)

if your still wanting more power, give it a good service, there very picky about spark plugs, and go speek to flee on fccuk as he now has a chip that will map it to about 155 (better mpg and power delevery)

I'll leave the airbag light for now. I was only worried about it for MOT puropses but the garage has told me that it'll be fine.

With regards to the power, just doesn't seem to have any pickup. The car isn't slow but to be honest my 2.0 mondeo feels quicker!

As far as I know the car is standard apart from a back-box and a K&N panel filter.

Service will be on the lsit. What spark plugs are best? Is this MAF sensor a common fault?

Apart from that, pleased with the car so far, especially the noise!

hi there. Congrats on 1st buy. I have issuse wiv power, i think it needs a good service and new maf.i know what you mean about it not feelin quick. But they aint slow.sometimes it feels rapid and others just sluggish. You cud try resetin the ecu.. Info in the repair guide on here on how to do that. I love my hgt to bits.and they are quite good on fuel if you drive careful.i got induction kit on mine. Sounds awsome. Oh by the way any pictures to post?

Bravo going in for MOT on friday so providing that all goes well, I'll be using it full time as of next week.

I will get some pics up as I would like some feedback.
