The cost-cutting continues and the company are taking back my Blackberry so recommendations would be welcome.
SIM will stay with me and is on O2.
Suggestions for replacement?

Constructive Mr Anon. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. For info they did take my job and I had to find another.
Now, perhaps i should be clearer. Not fussed about keeping it I would just like a reasonably good phone. Email not that important nor is internet but would be nice to have reasonable camera.

Nokia N86 has an 8MP camera and is a fantastic phone. Although, you may like the N97, with it's touch screen and 5MP camera.

Thanks Rob but they're both bloody expensive. I'll be staying on my contract so need to buy phone only. Can get the same blackberry for iro £120 so looking for options for less than that really.

Ok.... am I just being stupid BUT...
Why do Tesco use O2 when they have their very own mobile network???!!!???!!!???
Well I've just taken delivery of my new phone, Nokia 6700.
I'm getting a HTC blackberry look'a'like with work so I decided I just want a normal phone that will last.
Took the camera for a spin 2day and it's not as good as say the N98 etc... but the tiny ickle flash suprised me in the pitch black loft this morning & 5meg camera is more than enough for camera phone quick pics.
If you want cheap good phone ther Nokia 6500 classic or Slide are brill!!!
Prob is PAYG phones with good camera's cost a fortune!!!
A good tip tho... when you decide which phone you want, get it from carphone on the cheapest network option - as all phones they sell are unlocked so you don't have to use that network sim, just pop your work sim and off you go

arrr... thought Tesco was like Asda/ Virgin/ Easy/ Talk Talk etc... and used the T-mobile network.
Although it's all change again as they fight for the best coverage.
Apparently BT mobile network has the best reception as they aren't fixed to just one carrier & use the best carrier in the area you are calling from!!!
Anyways, I have a black blackberry curve prob redundant by the end of the month But it's on Orange so needs unlocking... plus it's well battered!!!
E-bay is the best place as the new 8900curve has been out long enough now for most people to have upgraded.
On a seperatte note... im on an Aspire 5735Z also 2night.... but the multi touch pad is doing my nut!!!

You're welcome.
Gonna check the company price list on Monday and see if they will do me a deal. Can't hurt.

the Nokia 6500 slide is kack... i have one now and its been dicking about for the year i have had it and its only getting worse... also, dont get a pay go on 3 mobile as it will be locked to 3 network and wont accept other sims or vice versa (as i found out trying to put my sim into an old but working phone)

Hey Oz,
I haven't used the w995 but I have owned 5 sony's after nokia's and have never looked back!
Only thing with the slide versions is sometimes the earpiece can knacker up after a while, but this is rare and an easy fix, just the cable which connects comes loose.
Apart from that I love sony ericssons and the Cameras aren't too shabby either

It looks good and ticks a hell of a lot of boxes I have to say. At 8mp I won't need to buy a camera and at 16GB I wont need my Walkman any more either.
200 mins
200 Texts
£20 per month
Free phone
24 month contract.

I know you have said o2 and some people don't like three, but they have some cracking offers at the moment!
i.e.
£20 = 200mins, unlimited txts & unlimited internet 18 month contract & free sony c903/noika E71
or
you can go mix and match which is roughly £18 for 500 txts/calls however you want it....
just a thought as I know you said o2

Oz the W995 is an AMAZING PHONE!!!
was offered that or my Nokia 6700 classic.
The W995 has everything... but I abuse phones and drop them and generally misstreat them so I opted for the Nokia because of its super super strong case.
BUT the W995 is the better choice of phone right now over ever other for everyday person use.
That deal is long but cheap.... but very very long!
Most phones only come with a 12 month warranty, so you'll have another 12months of £20 that if the phone goes wrong... well sorry you have to pay to fix it or go without a phone.
18month plans are a pain too, but it's less time out of a warranty period & you can justify paying off your contract early should you need to.
I'm looking at more deals right now, so watch this space!!!
