on my bravo i have a small break in the air pipe before the inlet and after the sensor. At the moment its causing the car to judder a bit and once free rolling or gears disengaged the revs drop out and they then either flick back up or it stalls.

Anyways my question is do you think this would cause a large loss of power or accellaration?

may be possible, due to the engine rocking when u floor it(this could cause the gap in the pipe to open up and make the air/fuel mix even worse!)it will also be drawing in unfiltered/mucky air, flys, wasps, bee's and small animals etc happy.gif get some gaffer tape round it as a tempfix mate

yeah have done the gaffa tape trick, but it still allows air in through it lol. in need of a new pipe for definate.

its just since the problem started Ive done a few engine mods which have made a little bit of a difference, and was wondering if i can expect it to be any better on performance when i get it fixed.

oh just noticed it was you who responded mate happy.gif

does the hgt you have for spares have the same pipe before the inlet manifold?

also been meaning to ask did your de-cat make an improvement to your car? thinking of having one made up for mine, for track days only of course lol.

think the pipe will be different mate(and its split anyway lol)
the de-cat made the engine rev more freely and gained a few extra bhp,but lost a small ammount of torque.only reason i took it off was because of the noise!

of course,if u use a de-cat on the road it will be illegal and naughty and every1 will die(thats if no1 grasses on u first lol)

does anyone know what the pipe is called between the inlet manifold and air flow sensor?

Also have checked ebay and none of the 1.8s have that part. Is there another engine size with the same plastic pipe?

Any help appreciated.

you can buy that pipe from any motorfactor costin a couple of pound. it is important as it sets idle and vacuum advance for the ecu.
