OT - Exhausts and MOTs

Hi Guys

A quick question:-

My wife's Punto (2001 1.2 ELX) has a hole in the exhaust so it will need a new one shortly.

I have the car booked in for it's MOT on Wednesday morning.

Will the fact that the exhaust needs replacing mean an MOT failure? It isn't particularly noisy (yet!) but might I have a problem with emissions?

Obviously if I need to get the exhaust sorted BEFORE the MOT then I need to get it done pretty sharpish.

Any advice as always is appreciated.

Cheers.

clearly, it needs a new exhaust, and yes, if its blowing at all, its a fail. however, you can bandage/botch the repair for the MOT if you are getting a new one in the coming weeks. One of the gun gum kits could last a week no problem.

ur not 100% right buzz.

it will only fail if is massivly blowing. and if its sucking air in rather than out. if its blowing air out how can it effect the emmisions??

if its sucking it in then it can effect it.
