yesterday whilst waiting to pull onto a roundabout coming from work,a complete twat rammed into the back of my bravo.the back end has been pushed in so that the boot wont shut and the spare tyre is now jammed and was pushed down into the floor of the boot, there is other damage ,lights, steering.the bloke said sorry mate but i sneezed and put my foot on the accelerator.if they scrap my car how much will they pay for a t reg with 49000 on the clock and was in great condition prior to the accident.if they only offer a poxy £500 i wont find another car like it for that money.whats my options anyone
You'll be looking at a rough guess at about £400-£800 (wide range I know but there's a lot of factors). Very much doubt you'd get much more for a 10 year old Bravo.

I agree, it's not right that you may have to get a new motor but you should be asking for market value on your claim and 2nd hand cars are currently going up in value. Hold out for the value you stated in your quote from insurers (assuming it wasn't £800).
If you have whiplash and its affecting your ability to work then by all means claim for loss of earnings...you will need to take time off work outside of your sick allowance.
If you don't have whiplash then you are pushing up my insurance premium by claiming what you are not entitled to.
Accidents happen, we are bottom feeders owning very cheap cars and fraud is not a fecking joke!

thnx for that marko. i actually do have whiplash and i am off work.my passenger was stretchered away in an ambulance with a spinal injury so this is not a case of me doing someone over for a few bob.my main concern is having to find an equally reliable motor for a few hundred quid.

Isn't a T-reg eligible for the £2000 scrappage allowance?
Would that make it worth £2k for the purposes of the insurance claim
Say you were going to trade it in for a new car next week
