Apparently my wife took the Brava down to the ATU near our apartment, and found out the starter may be going out, and we need a new one. I would rather do this myself rather than paying them over 300 Euros for the job. Is this an easy task for me to do?
I am still waiting for the information from the diagnostic check on the Injector Light. I personally think it is a Temp Sensor failure since when the light comes on, the performance is not affected at all. Not sure if this is also a do-it-yourself job, but I will ask when the time comes.
Please advise on how to change the starter, and if I can do it myself. Thanks!!
it is easily do-able...3 bolts and a few electrical wiring

Good morning .
You could change the starter yourself if your good with your hands around an engine. What engine is it, its probably hardest on hgt and jtds but only because of access. disconnect the leads and undo the 3 bolts and it should come off.
Well, I am fairly ok on hands-on projects. Not sure where the starter is at so i need help on pointing me in the right direction.
The car is a 1998 Fiat Brava. The engine is the 103 hp version which I think is the 1.6 one. If you need more info, let me know. By the way, the mechanics who were trying to hook up the computer for the diagnostic check, said they couldn't read the codes due to there being an aftermarket stereo installed. Is this true?
If so I can install the original back in just so they can tell me what is causing the injector light. I still think it is a faulty sensor. Not sure if that is also an easy and cheap job to do.
Please advise on both projects if you guys could. Thank you so much for the quick help on this. I will probably wait til after vacation to start working, but will print it out. I am heading to Denver, Colorado to get away, but I value you guys advice. Never been wrong, and have saved me a lot of Dollars!! Thanks!!
