had a lucky escape today. whilst driving down to my mums house, my brakes started to feel a bit funny!!! for about the last 4miles of the trip, i was behind a wagon carrying a tractor, doing 30mph, and i couldn't overtake. tried to brake to turn off, there was absoulty no brake at all. took it down to my mates garage, found that the rear brake pipes had rusted through in two places, and brake fluid was p155ing out!!!he said its a tank off job to get at the pipes going over the tank.my mate will bend some 5mm copper pipe to match the shape of the existing ones, and make good both ends.any one of you lads experienced this on you fiats??

p.s it's a hlx 1.6 on a T99, with 90k on the clock.everything else underneath is solid

Had it on my marea, the end had seized onto the brake pipe. i made myself some copper pipe up and routed it under the tank, coverd it in insulation tape aswell to try to help with corrosion! Worked a treat. Have seen a few issues with the pipe that runs over the tank corroding through.

Had the same on my old delta - the metal pipes split open during heavy braking.
