Good Day to all in Odeon Beat Club.....What can i say? Great stuff, exciting well constructed tunes, fine vocals and backing vocals. When i first heard them they put me in mind of The Strokes with a little touch of Green Day in the vocal department but thats an unfair comparison they are most definitely they're own bag, but hey! these are the the times we live in and The Strokes and Green Day are great too. Theres a real sense that they wanna push the boundaries a bit and they do just that. As you know by now i cant stand bands who sing in that horrible faked scottish accent (SDA.."GEN-A-RAT-AR") but the spoken word part on the second song on 'Behind My Eye', 'Gone Mad' (released in 2003) is pure poetry and hearbreakingly charming, and the girl/boy vocal interplay is cool. Not many bands can keep my concentration for long when the actual chords to the song never change from start to finish. But its bold and works very well and is one of my favourite songs along with The Fridays 'Picturegraph'( and no you Wheel Nuts i'm not in either band). What i will say is that I SALUTE YOU for keeping music fresh and interesting and long may you do so.
