You know Vera, where I live here in Texas we have a custom. Who ever we pass on the road while driving we wave to. Motorist, biciclist, walker, runner, whether we know them or not, we acknoledge their existence with a friendly wave, a howdy, confirmation that we saw them. It is like a blessing. Most wave back in kind. Some do not. I can wave at certain people day after day on my way out at the same time every day, and those same people will not wave back. Obviously they aren't from around here. I have always wondered how you could ingnore a person who waves at you. Fail to greet them as if they don't exsist. Not respond. Nothing to respond to there.
