If two people are in a room, you don't have two lighting systems, or two heating systems, or two phones, or two TVs, two garbage services, two refrigerators, two washers, I could go on and on. There is a lot of sharing when people occupy the same house. But if you have separate houses, everything has to be duplicated! I've done it both ways and I know how much can be saved by sharing one set of everything.
